I'm no soldier, obviously. But I thought they were supposed to protect civilians. Pretty fucked up that just doing their job can turn them into the type of people that don't see a problem with hurting the people they're supposed to be protecting.
It doesn't always happen, but... well, you know. Once you learn how to see others as just enemies, or just people between you and what you want to protect? You don't have to be in a war to do it.
